Syed Ali Abbas leads the principal investment initiatives, capital raising and deal origination in M. East.
Prior to Zeus, Mr. Syed was a Director in the Structured Finance and Metals & Mining investment banking teams at ABN AMRO in London. His key transactions included A $10 billion acquisition of WMC Resources by BHP Billiton, US $ 800 MM acquisition of Outokumpu's copper and zinc operations by Boliden SA and Evraz Holding's acquisition of Vitkovice Steel. In addition he was involved in capital raising (debt and equity) for several large emerging markets/ resources companies including: Mittal Steel, Corus, Vedanta Resources and Boliden.
Mr. Syed's experience also includes time in the mergers & acquisitions and leveraged finance teams of Morgan Stanley in London where his key transactions included: € 6 billion acquisition of Reemstma by Imperial Tobacco, acquisitions of Opodo and START GmbH by Amadeus.
Mr. Syed holds an MBA degree from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and he is also a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), UK and Chartered Accountant (ACA), UK. |
